Bram Timmermans obtained a PhD in Innovation, Knowledge and Economic Dynamics at Aalborg University in June 2010. In addition, he obtained a MSc. in Economic Geography fromthe University of Utrecht and a MSc. in Innovation, Knowledge and Economic Dynamics from Aalborg University.
His PhD revolved around the topic of human resources and firm performance; thereby focusing on how the composition of human resources in start-ups and established firms affected their performance. Issues that have been taken up in his PhD dissertation are employee diversity, labor mobility and entrepreneurial teams.
After completing his PhD, he continued working as a Postdoc in Innovation Studies. In this position he worked on topics revolving knowledge intensive entrepreneurship and outsourcing and offshoring. His current research activities arewithin the fields of innovation studies,entrepreneurship, industrial dynamicsand labor mobility. Since 2013 he is employed as an Associate Professor at the Department of Business and Management.
